The Report Takers Unit is responsible for entering all offense reports, arrest reports, and pawn tickets into the Report Management Software. After an officer works a call, he or she will call the Report Takers Unit and dictate his or her report over the phone. When an officer calls in an arrest report, the report taker has the ability to input the information and send a copy of the arrest report to a printer in the jail for the officer to sign when he or she arrives at the jail with the arrestee. This system of report writing allows the officer to stay out on the road and available to work calls instead of spending his or her time typing up reports.
In 2009, the 22 report takers in the unit entered 33,222 Offense Reports, 99,627 Pawn Tickets, and 29,066 Arrest Reports, Warrant and Warrant Affidavits.
