The Community Oriented Policing Unit

   The mission of the Community Oriented Policing Unit is to establish and maintain a relationship between law enforcement and the citizens of Escambia County with the common goal of combating crime in the community.  The community policing concepts promote the use of innovative crime prevention measures to empower citizens and law enforcement to coordinate their efforts to reduce crime and to advance the quality of life in the community. 

   The Community Oriented Policing Unit is responsible for coordinating:

• Neighborhood Watch
• Citizen Volunteer Program
• Community Relations
• Problem Oriented Policing
• The Explorer Program
