For many business owners in our community, the fear of crimes occurring at their business is a common fear. In 2009, non-residential burglaries accounted for 24.7% of all burglaries in Escambia County. Of these burglaries, 38.8% occurred during night time hours when many businesses are closed.

When crimes of this nature occur, it is important that officers have a means of contacting the appropriate person or business owner to notify them of the crimes. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has Business Decals available to local businesses who are interested in registering their information with the Sheriff’s Office. The decals are displayed in a window or door of the business and contains an identification number for that specific business that allows officers to look up the contact information for the business owner or manager in the event of a crime.
