What We Do

Post 117 reaches out to the communities of Escambia County, by assisting with children’s
activities at various community events.

Helping out local schools agencies and organizations, parking cars and talking to children about the importance of being drug and alcohol free are some of the many ways we reach out. We hold meetings every 2nd Tuesday of each month to discuss upcoming events and do uniform inspections. Training is a very important part of our post. We have training on the fourth Tuesday of each month. We also keep in touch outside of meetings and events, because communication is a very important part for us to stay together.

Fingerprinting, teamwork, defensive tactics, handcuffing techniques, first aid, CPR, and pistol training are some of the many training activities we participate in. Staying knowledgeable in these fields we work with makes us stronger as a team and helps us work more efficiently.
This Post is a member of the Florida Sheriff’s Explorers Association (FSEA). Different counties in the FSEA host Delegates Meetings in March, September, and December and the State Conference in June.
In June, all of the Posts state wide meet together to discuss the outlook of the association,
hold pistol competitions, competitions in other areas, and training through the many fields of Law Enforcement.
