The below statistics are extracted from the Annual Crime Analyst Report and are based on Uniform Crime Reporting Program which is used by law enforcement agencies to collect and report crime data. In 2010, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office saw a slight decrease in Calls for Service over 2009. May of 2010 brought about the highest number of calls for service with 20,847 during the month. The highest months for calls for service typically falls during the summer months as it coincides with school’s being on break and tourist season in the Panhandle of Florida.

Once an officer responds to a call for service, he or she determines if an offense report is necessary to document the incident and indicate if further police action or follow-up investigation is required. In 2010, Officers wrote the most offense reports during the month of September, with 3,133 reports. Overall, deputies wrote 33,834 offense reports in 2010.
In 2010, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office made 13,639 arrests. Each time a person is arrested, he or she is counted for criminal statistics. This figure includes Juvenile arrests.

In 2010, the average daily inmate population in all of the Escambia County correctional facilities was 1,453. This includes inmates housed at the Main Jail, Central Booking and Detention and the Escambia County Road Prison. The figure also includes adult and juvenile inmates.
