The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office will host the second female edition of the “Sheriff’s Blazer Academy,” beginning in August 2023. Every Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Blazer Academy will mentor 25 young ladies ages 13, 14, and 15. The academy will focus on providing positive life skills to assist those individuals with being strong, trustworthy, accountable, resilient and successful while navigating through personal and professional life.
Each two-hour session will include role-playing scenarios designed to develop interpersonal skills and confidence building necessary for them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
The Sheriff’s Blazer Academy will provide dinner each night, transportation if needed, dress attire fitted to each student and a graduation/dinner ceremony.
The Sheriff’s Blazer Academy will accept 25 students per academy, and applications must be completed and sent to Lisa Parrish at lgparrish@escambiaso.com no later than Friday, July 14, 2023.
